Recently I’ve made a momentous decision and it’s to change nearly everything I’m doing.
I’m desperate for
- space and clarity.
- boundaries and compassion.
- some healing.
The problem is every time I initiate this inspiration filled process, I’m halted by the noise
- excessive relationships
- social media
- burdens that are not my own
- guilt and
- lingering trauma (that I’ve ignored for years)
I want to
- De-layer (remove the heavy burdens)
- Truth and simplicity
- Speak love because it is so great, rather than inflict pain due to my own share of it.
I know I’m not alone and that many, millions, are working through shit they wish didn’t exist. Some problems stem from our less than desirable childhood and others are just life’s unforeseen circumstances.
Either way, there is just a time for everything and this time for me is to decrease noise, find my moral clarity, learn compassion, and heal.
How will I do this? I’m glad you asked-
-Social Media Icons have been removed from my phone
-Focusing on my health (spiritual, mentally, + physically) by attending a wellness workshop hosted by my favorite health and wellness Guru, Sophie Uliano.
-Being mindful of what is necessary and what isn’t. For instance, saying ‘No Thank you’ to events that I’m not interested in and working on not committing to something right away.
These are just a few examples of what this pursuit looks like.
I could sugarcoat this but that defeats my very purpose and intention which is; pursue authenticity and peace at all cost. I will not achieve my goals if I don’t take a short recess.
May I encourage you to do the same? Check in with yourself and really examine what is serving you and/or teaching you? Are you maximizing your potential in whatever area you see fit?
I love to work hard and I relish being in the dirt of potential but effectivity is only possible when we are the very best WE can be.
Cheers to our best Selves!
Mindy
Mindy, Thanks for your words of truth and encouragement. This is something I struggle with all the time! Learning to say NO with No Guilt is what I’ve been working on in my own life.
Miss you friend!
Peg! I miss you! A lot! Mucho! It’s difficult but it really boils down to this: Do our desires and ‘calling’ align with the expectations of those expecting our YES.
I need to do some of the same so much so! I feel overwhelmed when I think about where to start and how to maintain. Oh vey…
Let’s chat my sweetest.
SOOOOOO Proud of you Mindy!!!! You are incredible and I am so thankful for our friendship!!!
Ditto my friend. You are a constant reminder of why and how this is important. Love you.
Good for you, Mindy!! What a great quest to be on and the reward will be even better. Cheers!
Thanks Beautiful! It’s already been thwarted…. Isn’t that life. But I’m working day by day toward this.
Such a great reminder! I think we could all use a little ‘decluttering’ and ‘space’ in our lives! One thing that I do… I don’t have emails come to my phone – just this one simple thing has been so freeing!!!
Excellent decision! Especially considering you work out of your home. It could be easy to let work and home run into each other.
Mindy that is so good you are doing this and taking care of yourself. It’s so good you are taking time to refocus on what’s most important. Would love to hear about the wellness workshop you go to.
I had to reinstall both FB and Instagram just to grab some info and immediately found myself scrolling. UGH. Waste of time unless it’s scheduled, and intentional.
I needed this at this moment in my life???
