Have you heard? I wrote a book, well, a chapter in a book and it’s called Love Meets Life. 52 different perspectives and stories that will distract you from the weary ways of our world and remind you that love is all around us but more importantly, within us. Here is how it happened and a snippet from my chapter, “Her Love”.

My close friend, Jennifer Cooper messaged me a few months ago and asked if I want to write in a new book coming out. Since Jenn has a non-profit and is a local Arizonan, Tara Ijai asked Jenn if she would like to contribute to this project. Jenn recommended me instead and introduced the two of us. I knew right away the answer was yes; writers from all over, in different industries, conveying their perception of love through words. Love is a very vast and sometimes complex thing and I needed to decide what direction to go in. I quickly decided to stay with my mom, where my concept of love began.
Without spoiling the story, I’d like to share the first paragraph;
The faded superhero bed sheets were beaded up and smelled stale. The room was dark but there was a hint of light seeping through the cracked door. The head of the old oak bunkbed nearly touched the door frame and every shadow gave me hope that it was my mom there to get me. I was told I could sleep on the top bunk until she came to pick me up, but sleep was not my priority, staying awake was. Besides, I barely knew these people and I think the mattress might have been peed on. I compulsively shifted from my left to right side trying to tilt my head so I could keep my eyes on the light, certain she would be there soon. It was my weekend with her and surely, she wanted to spend every minute with me, or at least most of her time within the next 48 hours.
Oh, the suspense of what happens and what the point even is…
I am humbled but reminded how important opportunity is. I think opportunity is all around us if we are looking for it to meet our desires. This was one of the greatest experiences and I hope you will feel my emotions through a little girls eyes up to what I feel now. It is sacred, important, and real.
