Dear Mindy is a platform for women to discuss and relate to sensitive issues such as women still missing, rape, murder, assault, victimization, and shame without bias or background interference.
Through writing and research, I’ve found many of my own biases regarding; women, victimization, grief, healing, forgiveness, and love. As I sat in the police station for hours sifting through my mom’s case file, I had a thought and it hasn’t left me. I’ve scrutinized it and figured out where and why it even existed and you’ll see more of that through my blog and eventually my book when it’s released. There is an incredible need for women to develop new traits like dignity and self-worth to potentially decrease the probability of becoming a victim.
There is an even greater need for society to change the women’s narrative who’ve been assaulted. They are not to blame for another human’s lack of self control and heinous behavior.
What You Can Expect on Dear Mindy:
- Sensitive, yet common, stories of victims and survivors.
- Letters from you and my replies (Share Your Story)
- Book recommendations, mostly in the form of Self-Improvement/Development but also Romance Thrillers and some Memoirs.
As you thumb through Dear Mindy, I hope you will share your thoughts and experiences. I’ve come to believe that shared narratives unite the lonely, expose the popularly hidden secrets we carry, and relieve the pressure of shame. I think we all need this.
