Do you remember my live Facebook video in December? I made a declaration that my calling was clear and I would be turning most of my attention on writing the story of my sweet mom’s death and my sister would co-author. Once you read what I’m about to tell you, there’s not a chance you can say that God isn’t the most skilled planner ever!
After an awesome visit with my sister over the holidays, she returned back to Washington. Just a few days later, she called me, actually face timed me. Her skin was flush, eyes larger than normal, and when I picked up, the first thing she said was, “you’re never going to believe what just happened, who just called.” I didn’t feel concerned or even a sense of anticipation but I definitely wasn’t expecting to hear this…
Discovery Channel called and is launching a series in the fall of 2017 and my mom’s case would be a part of that. Wow, so many “coincidences” but are they really? I don’t think so. I think that it’s amazing and such a confirmation that I’m on the right path.
In the video I created in December I said, “I want to fly to Washington the end of January, I want to interview Detective Reinhold and document this journey, and lastly I said that I want to shed beauty on my mom specifically, that she wasn’t just some lady in the bar.”
The producer said the same thing, more or less. So tonight I’m flying to Seattle to begin filming. It’s surreal that after 15 years, this is happening. How in the world does God orchestrate everything and at such perfect timing? Of course I’m in awe of what God is doing but I’m not sure what I feel about tomorrow or the next day. I’ve been asked by a close friend if I’m nervous about this weekend….
No, I’m not, and strangely I feel numb.
Let’s see what this weekend holds.
You are a strong, beautiful and caring woman just like your mom…that is how you will get through this! God will continue to carry you through this amazing journey and I can’t wait to see the strength and story that emerges. Your friends and family, in all variations, are cheering you and your sister on! You’ve got this! I love you.
